The very first line was very surprising to me that in every two second someone needs blood in US. According to WHO to maintain the adequacy of blood supply 1 to 3 % of world’s population needs to donate blood. Every year, worldwide 108 million people donates their blood, over half of these are collected by developed countries. This also indicates that developing countries has to deal with the shortfall of blood.
